A system that runs but never actually cools usually means a refrigerant charge issue, a failing capacitor, or restricted airflow — not something a thermostat adjustment will fix. Ignoring warm air from the vents rarely makes the underlying issue cheaper to fix later.
A furnace that clicks but never lights, or one that lights and shuts off within seconds, usually points to a failing ignitor, a fouled flame sensor, or a safety switch doing exactly its job. Our Athens, MI techs see this specific pattern often enough to diagnose it quickly rather than guess.
